Reporter: Miss Newth
Some of our Kākano students recently wrote instructions for how to make a clay bird. This was inspired by the Story telling approach.
They took photos of each step as they made the clay birds, printed them off and then the class put the photos in the correct order. They then drew their own story map to help remember the steps then wrote down a step each using words like First, second, next, then, last.
Finally, they turned their writing into a Book creator book. They knew that right from the start they were writing instructions for the Koru students so they could learn how to make a clay bird.
They were so excited about their final product and would love you to read more about the project and watch their video here.
